Helpful tips to get the best from your session:

For children, book completely outside of their typical nap times. Bring non messy snacks and a drink, you can also consider bringing along personal items or toys that would incorporate well into their photos. Look them over before you come - things that can be problematic: temporary tattoos, chipped nail polish - fingers or toes, candy that stains teeth, dirty faces, crazy hair…

Everyone should bring CLEAN & DRY indoor shoes if we are doing family photos. They are often full length poses that will show head to toe and shoes are often overlooked. outdoor / dirty shoes are not allowed in my studio to prevent the extra wear and tear on the backdrops / floordrops. If shoes aren’t an option, all black socks, or barefoot work just fine if you are ok with either. Avoid mismatched or bright colourful socks, it gets distracting in the photos.

Clothing choices: Be sure you are comfortable with what you wear and that it is clean, free of major wrinkles, well fitting etc. I do not alter clothing in my retouching process. sweat stains can be very difficult to retouch as well, so be sure to wear something that won’t show sweat - light grey is so often the offender for this. Consider what goes well together for other family members, I recommend you avoid all wearing the same colour - but the same colour tones are good. (All jewel tones, or all pastel colours as an example). Keep in mind that Black will show every little piece of lint, so it is often not your friend….

Don’t worry about scratches or bruises that will need retouching, I will do that no problem, just point them out to me so I can be sure to give them the extra attention they will need.

I have two cats in my home so if you come for studio photos and are allergic please have your meds on hand just in case it is a bother.

There are NO CELL PHONE PHOTOS ALLOWED in my studio.
